Strategic workforce planning for gaining competitive advantage in the retail sector

Strategic workforce planning is a model that helps organizations align their workforce with their future business needs. Its purpose is to connect an organization's practices with its human resource strategy, ultimately driving innovation, promoting a high-performance workforce, and gaining a competitive advantage in their respective industries. This strategy is essential in the retail market segment, enabling companies to manage their resources effectively. One such well known company operating in the retail market in the MENA region is the Landmark group, which prioritizes human resource management to gain an edge over the competition. This paper is a case study analysis of Landmark's strategic workforce planning, and (SWP), its alignment with corporate strategy, the factors that affect workforce demand and supply, change management, role of technology and how it helps the company maintain a competitive advantage in the retail market sector.
