Geetha B Nayak
A sizable proportion of India's workforce is unorganised. This sector's workforce includes casual labourers, day-to-day vendors, domestic vendors, maids, and so on. They play an important role in the development of an economy, and women, as a strong pillar in nation building, also require financial literacy. Simply said, financial literacy is the knowledge of various financial instruments and savings, as well as the ability to make sound financial/investment decisions with available financial resources. This paper attempts to examine the scenario of financial literacy among working women in the unorganised sector and determine whether demographic and socioeconomic variables have any effect on financial literacy. 1000 respondents from Bengaluru City have been chosen, and the data obtained will be analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques to derive conclusions.
