Ethics plays a vital role in Human Resource Management as HR practices directly affect employees and organizational performance. Ethical behaviour in HRM ensures fairness, transparency, honesty, and respect in managing people at the workplace. In the modern business environment, organizations face several ethical challenges such as discrimination in recruitment, unfair performance appraisal, wage inequality, workplace harassment, and misuse of employee data. These issues highlight the growing need for ethical standards in Human Resource Management. The purpose of this paper is to examine the concept of ethics in Human Resource Management and to identify the major ethical issues associated with various HR functions. The present study is conceptual in nature and is based entirely on secondary data. The paper discusses major ethical issues including bias and discrimination in recruitment, lack of equal training opportunities, favouritism in performance appraisal, wage inequality and gender pay gap, workplace harassment, and concerns related to employee privacy and data protection. These unethical practices negatively impact employee morale, job satisfaction, trust, and organizational reputation. The study concludes that ethical Human Resource Management is essential for building a positive work culture and ensuring long-term organizational success.
