The main objective of this study is to investigate the impact of faculty members’ emotional intelligence on knowledge sharing behavior of public universities in Bangladesh. This study also sought to identify the significance of emotional intelligence and knowledge sharing behavior of the faculty members of public universities in Bangladesh. A review of literature was conducted to find out the relationship between emotional intelligence and knowledge sharing behavior. The literature review confirms the relationship. A survey was conducted to collect data. The sample size of 30 faculty members was drawn from different public universities (Dhaka, Chattagram, Tangail, Cumilla and Noakhali) in Bangladesh. The result shows that emotional intelligence is positively correlated with knowledge sharing behavior of faculty members of different public universities. The result also demonstrates that all the determinants of emotional intelligence are positively correlated with emotional intelligence. Self-motivation demonstrates the highest positive correlation with emotional intelligence and self-awareness shows small positive correlation with emotional intelligence on faculty members in Bangladesh. This study also finds that there is a significant influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable and the model applied is significantly good to predict the dependent variable. This study suggests that future research should concentrate on a bigger sample size and all the public universities in Bangladesh. In addition, more decision making variables should also be considered in the study.
